PRESS RELEASE: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Coolray Heating and Cooling Receives Training for Reduction of Staph and MRSA Contamination

(Marietta, GA, 10/12/09) - Coolray Heating and Cooling Inc. recently completed training in the use and installation of state of the art, Certified Space Technology environmental equipment. According to Mike Letts, VP of activTek Environmental, Bristol, VA, this equipment is designed to reduce surface biological and chemical challenges in homes, offices, businesses and hospitals.

Most parents know 80% of all germs, bacteria, and viruses are transmitted by touching surfaces that have been contaminated with viruses or germs from someone else that is already sick. This can happen very easily if a person goes to the doctor for a wellness checkup and sits next to a sick person in a waiting room or if a child plays with the same toy that a sick child has played with. The viruses or germs that are picked up can be brought into the home and cause others to become ill.

The equipment, which mounts in your heating and cooling system, can be added to an existing home or office. It has been tested and proved effective at reducing up to 99.9% of surface contamination of Staph and MRSA which has also been a growing concern in schools and medical facilities.

According to Eric Evans, Service Manager Coolray Heating and Cooling, “There is much excitement surrounding this training because it provides equipment that reduces up to 99.9% of all surface germs, viruses, and bacteria, a significant development.” The equipment also works great at reducing food and pet odors, cigarette smoke and musty odors that many homes contain. “It’s like having a cleaning service cleaning your home, 24 hours a day, even while you sleep,” said Eric.

The technology is considered some of the most advanced available for “Sick Building Syndrome”. It has received the prestigious status of “Certified Space Technology” by the NASA affiliated Space Foundation and is considered a “Building/Going Green” product.

Dr. James Marsden, Kansas State University, one of the top researchers and experts in infectious control, coordininated the study for the technology used by activTek. Dr. Marsden’s study has been peer reviewed and published in the scientific Journal of Rapid Methods in Microbiology 15 (2007) 359-368. Dr. Jill Bieker, a researcher from the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration’s Sandia National Laboratories, assisted Dr. Marsden with the testing and led the research to prove the effectiveness of activTek Technology on Avian Influenza (H5N8).
